House Rules Golf is a golf scoring and tournament app built by Clever Hares. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it’s used, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don’t run ads, we don’t sell or share your data for marketing, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.
The app does not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, health data, or advertising identifiers.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it to anyone.
House Rules Golf is built around private groups. Your scores, stats, and posts are visible to the other members of your event — that’s the point of the app — and to event administrators. They are not public and are not visible to users outside your event.
We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the app, and they process data only on our behalf: cloud hosting and database services store account and event data, an email delivery service sends your sign-in codes, and app distribution and update services deliver the app to your device. These providers are bound by their own contractual and security obligations and do not use your data for their own purposes. Data is stored on servers located in the United States.
We keep your account and event data while your account is active, since historical results and standings are a core feature of the app. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing hello@cleverhares.com from the address on your account. We will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where a record must be retained to comply with legal obligations. Scores that are part of another user’s event history may be retained in de-identified form.
Sign-in uses one-time email codes rather than passwords. Data is encrypted in transit, access to production systems is restricted, and scoring is validated on our servers rather than trusted from the device.
House Rules Golf is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To exercise any of these, email hello@cleverhares.com. We honor these requests regardless of jurisdiction.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and note the change in the app or by email. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
